Here’s another chance to get your geek on. The Florida Supercon will take place July 1st-4th in Miami at the Miami Airport Convention Center. It turns out this is the 6th year for the event! This is how they describe the convention on their website:
South Florida’s Comic Book, Anime, Animation, Video Game, Fantasy and Sci-Fi Convention will return on July 1-4, 2011. That’s right, FSC is now a 4 day event! Since it’s a holiday weekend, and Monday is the holiday, we’re expanding the fun for an extra day. It’s now a Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday event!
It sounds like they have a little bit for everyone. They even have a huge cosplay competition where they’ll give away over $3,000 in cash and prizes. Not too shabby! They have various themes like The Rock Band Cosplay where you come dressed up as a band! It can be either a band that already exists or you can make one up! Some of the other categories include Best In Show, Best Prop, Best Group and more. You can find all the details here.
As far as tickets go, it looks like they sell them throughout the year at various prices. The sooner you buy, the more money you save.
