Casting call for extras in Avengers film being shot in Cleveland

The call is out for new members of Marvel’s finest and most powerful band of heroes, or at least for people who would like a tiny spot in the upcoming movie that will be filmed in Cleveland.
Marvel Studios announced an open casting call for paid extras for “The Avengers,” for noon to 4 p.m., July 15 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 16 at the Holiday Inn Independence, 601 Rockside Road, off Interstate 71.
Interested people should dress in their “best business executive outfit” and must be well-groomed.
They said all extras must be at least 18 and that people should bring their own pen to fill out an application. Photos will be taken at the casting.
“The Avengers” is being primarily shot in Cleveland and partially in New Mexico. It stars Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man; Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury; Chris Hemsworth as Thor; Chris Evans as Captain America; Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow; Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk.
It builds upon the previous films starring Thor and the Hulk and the upcoming Captain America film, which opens July 22.
Filming is expected to begin in August and run through September. The movie will open May 4, 2012.
