Now, I’m not allowed to go into any detail. That’s what we had to promise before they showed us the episode. But what I can say is that the episode felt like a movie. It had a score. It had a feel to it that was larger than TV. You know how sometimes you watch a pilot episode, or maybe you go back and rewatch, and you find yourself saying that it was obviously a pilot? The quality might not be as good as the current episodes (or even just the 2nd), maybe the sets seem a little off, or maybe it’s the effects. Remember the obvious green screen in the “Ringer” pilot? I think we all remember how horrible that looked. “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” doesn’t suffer from this at all. It shouldn’t be a surprise with the companies involved in its making but it still blew me away.

The episode has a nice balance of action and story telling as well. You can tell that each character has a back story that makes them who they are. I can’t wait to learn more about the characters, especially Melinda May. You can tell something happened to her but you’re just not sure what exactly. Oh and secrets? They have secrets. They even have secrets that Agent Coulson isn’t aware of, and they involve him. Even Lola has secrets! But you find hers out at the end of the episode.

Apart from the episode, the panel was amazing just because of the reaction from the crowd. I’ve been to a fair number of panels in my day and I can’t remember when I saw a reaction like this. People were chanting “Coulson” along with “Whedon.” We gave standing ovations, we cheered, we asked for more. Everyone in that room was a family at that point. We all shared this huge connection that thousands of others which they did as well. It’s a blessing and a curse though. Yes, we got to see an amazing episode before everyone else but now we have to wait to see more!

Here are a few photos from the panel!
