It looks like George Lucas has given creative blessing to a new animated series created by Seth Green and Matt Senreich (Robot Chicken). Star Wars: Detours is a comedic animated series taking place between Episode’s III and IV. Check out the trailer below.

Here is the brief press release information:

Star Wars Detours™ is an animated comedy that explores what daily life is like in a galaxy far, far away. There are no Empires striking back or attacking clones here. Instead, Star Wars Detours focuses on the universe’s regular folks and their everyday problems… which, to be fair, do frequently involve famous bounty hunters, crazed Ewoks, and even a Dark Lord of the Sith.

Welcome to Star Wars: Detours: the other side of the stars, between the wars.

Some of the voice talents being used for Star Wars: Detours are Seth Green (Salacious Crumb and Various Others), Breckin Meyer (Various), Seth MacFarlane (Emperor), Catherine Taber (Leia), Billy Dee Williams (Lando), Ahmed Best (Jar Jar), Anthony Daniels (C3PO), Zachary Levi (Biff Tarkin – Son of Grand Moff Tarkin), and Donald Faison (Stormtrooper).

“Ah, It’s A Ploy!”
The show is set to air sometime in 2013. So we have quite a bit of time to go before it see’s the light of day. I was/am a big fan of the Robot Chicken and Family Guy Star Wars parodies. And as a big fan in general of the Star Wars universe, I fully plan on watching this show. Hopefully it will keep me interested longer than the Clone Wars animated series. I sort of burned out on that after the second season. But, I digress. Check out these three clips from the show below and get ready to chuckle.
