#SDCC #FAIL: Try Again Nov 8th

Just when you think SDCC can’t screw up anything else, they go and screw up 2011 registration. As you all know, today at 9am PDT (12EST) SDCC 2011 passes were to go on sale. Right away everyone was having issues. If you’re on Twitter you saw that a clusterfuck it was right away. Here are a few sample tweets:

Very disappointed. Wasting 2 hours of people’s time then rescheduling everything. #SDCC better be very prepared when hotels go on sale.

Epic fail Comic Con. Epic fail. #sdcc #sdccfail

I just got all the way to the page asking what pass I wanted then it crashed. Now we can’t buy until fuck knows when? Fuuuuuuuuuuu! #SDCC

If the same thing happens in a week, I’m going to be hauled away by La policía, for causing a scene in public #sdcc #fail

If you want to see more just search #SDCC on Twitter and you’ll see all the various responses. In the mean time, if you failed to save up $105 by now, you have an extra week as they’ve pushed back registration to November 8th. Actually, this is what you’ll find on

WE’RE SORRY ABOUT REGISTRATION
We are really sorry for the problems with registration today. We do not know what the technical issues are, so we have temporarily closed registration.

We will announce on Monday November 8th the new date and time that registration will reopen. This down time will allow us to determine and address the issues.

Only a handful of badges were actually sold today.

Thank you for your patience, and again, we all are truly sorry for this inconvenience.

So who knows when they’ll actually go on sale! I can’t believe this nonsense. It seems like every year it gets worse and worse. They really should know by now that they need to have a massive amount of bandwidth and server space or whatever. I knew it was going to be worse this year since 4 Day W/Preview sold out at SDCC 2010. This really is bullshit and the definition of FAIL.

If you need to rant/vent, please go ahead and fill the comments!
