It sure seems like 2013 was the year of the celebrity encounter! We’ve had tons of submissions from readers who rubbed elbows with their favorite celebrities and have the photos to prove it!
I went to Taran’s signing on Saturday and got this photo I was so beyond excited to meet my favorite SNL cast member, and he was very sweet and nice. He tweeted that he had another signing on Shnday, so I decided to go to that one as well. When Taran saw me on Sunday, he recognized me from the day before, immediately pulled me into a big hug, and thanked me for coming back to his signing. He asked me what my favorite part of the con was and I said the opportunity to meet him, because he’s been my favorite cast member for years. He said that I didn’t have to say that because I was talking to him, and I told him it was my favorite thing for real. He thanked me and hugged me again, and asked if I wanted to take a photo with him before his signing, and I told him I could wait for the signing and he said no, and insisted on the photo where we were hugging. He then said he would see me in a minute, and signed a comic book for my brother once his signing began and took another photo with me and his writing partner. I walked by over an hour later and said “Don’t you ever leave!?” and he said he never wanted to. We talked for a few more minutes and he told me to travel safely and he hoped to see me again someday, maybe at SNL. He was the sweetest person ever. Such a cool guy.
Sean Astin, I happened to walk by his booth and decided to wait for an autograph and a photo. He actually has been involved with a theater group called Starkid because he looks like one of the members, Dylan Saunders. When I met him, I asked him if he was Dylan and that made him laugh. He signed my photo like this:
That’s not all! Bethany got a couple of great pics with head of Nerd HQ! How cute are these?
I ran into Misha Collins outside the convention center on Saturday while I was dressed as Cas, and I kind of died from excitement a little bit inside.
Personally, I love the MIND MGMT button on her tote bag! One of my favorite comic book series of all time! Nice swag, Allison!

I was nervous as hell when I bought a ticket Sunday to come back later for the photo, but I really admire and love that guy so it was one of my top SDCC highlights ever.
