If you’re like me, you were sitting at your computer ready to go this morning. You were hoping that maybe, just maybe, CCI and EPIC were able to get their shit together. Boy, were we wrong. While the CCI website had no issues loading, the same can’t be said for the actual ticket registration page.
I never made it past Step 1. I had a friend who was able to make it to Step 3 before it kicked her out. I saw numerous types of error messages including one that had a phone number for EPIC. I called and got a recording that customer service wasn’t in. I didn’t give up 100% though. I kept trying, kept refreshing. Then I had to actually do work. I mean, I’m doing all this while at work. It’s not a huge deal but I know plenty of people out there might have stayed home, went in late, woke up early or whatever.
Then I saw this tweet:

I wasn’t sure what to think since it was a new Twitter account and I hadn’t seen anything from CCI yet. I’m thinking maybe they created it to help deal with the mess and then it was confirmed.
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED!
Once more, unfortunately, there have been issues with Comic-Con registration. So we have, again decided to close it down.
We are well aware that many people have taken time from work, school or other activities and others woke up very early. There really is no way to convey our level regret for this turn of events.
We are currently researching our registration options.
Really? It’s not like San Diego Comic Con sneaks up on them. They schedule it. Plus they had an “extra two weeks” to try and work out the issues. This wasn’t a surprise. I don’t care what they say. They should’ve known this was going to be huge when 4 Day Passes W/Preview Night sold out at SDCC 2010. That right there is a huge sign of things to come!
