We already knew that an event was planned for Friday night for the fans at an off-site location. While we’re still waiting on those details, backers (which I am) received this information in an email sent out today:
More SDCC News: We also continue to receive a lot of questions about our plans for San Diego Comic Con. As I shared in April, we’ll be holding our own fan event on the evening of July 19th, but now that we’ve finished coordinating with SDCC, I’m pleased to tell you that we’ll also be putting in an official appearance at SDCC itself: in the next few days, we should be able to share details about an official Veronica Mars panel and cast signings at the Warner Bros booth.
There you have it. There’s been rumors on and off about an actual panel at Comic-Con. One can wish for something, that doesn’t always mean it’ll happen. I know at the very start Rob wanted to have a presence at Comic-Con and looks like he’ll get it.
UPDATE 7/1:
Here’s another update! First some info on the off-site event:
Some backers already have reserved seats or tickets as part of the Kickstarter rewards. For those who don’t, the line for the remaining tickets will start around 6 am. Good news, though: you don’t need to be registered for SDCC to attend our event.
The week of SDCC, we’ll send one more Backer Update with final details, including instructions on where and when to line up. Until then, here’s what we can tell you:
WHAT: Veronica Mars SDCC Fan Event
WHEN: July 19, 2013, 7:30 PM
WHERE: Horton Plaza – Regal Cinema (United Artists 8)
WHY: We’ll be finishing up production, and you made it possible!
The emails also says that they will only be there the 19th due to their tight filming schedule. There will be an official SDCC panel and a signing at the WB booth. Here’s who will be attending:
Pretty much the whole gang will be there. Here’s the plan: Rob Thomas, Kristen Bell, Enrico Colantoni, Ryan Hansen, Jason Dohring, Tina Majorino, Krysten Ritter, Chris Lowell, Percy Daggs III andFrancis Capra will join a conversation with Entertainment Weekly’s Jeff Jensen to talk about the movie you made possible. They’ll be talking about the production and our amazing fans, showing a little bit of exclusive footage, and taking questions from the audience.
Most of the panelists expect Kristin will be taking part in the signing as well. Once more details are out we’ll be sure to pass it along!
