Don’t we all? I’ve had an influx of emails asking about 2013 badges and thought a post might clear that up.
First, we don’t know any secrets or tricks to actually land a badge. You just have to try and try again once tickets go on sale. It’s something all of us have to go through in order to purchase passes. We can’t get you a badge, please don’t ask!
Second, any information will be posted on Comic-Con.Org. That’s the only place you can purchase badges. If you buy them via Ebay, Craigslist or some other outlet, you risk the chance of not being allowed in or purchasing a fake badge. The most important thing is that you’ll need a Member ID to purchase a badge. If you don’t have one, create one now.
We have a few posts that talk about next year. Believe it or not, 2013 Comic-Con is the #1 search item for the website. This post talks about changes to registration. There will be an online sale in August for those who purchased tickets this year. Everyone else will be able to purchase tickets at a later date and time. Be sure to check out the post for all the details. Then we have this post that talks about the dates. San Diego Comic-Con 2013 will take place July 18th-21st. Yes, these dates are confirmed. I have it from a very reliable source that these are the dates and they won’t change.

I know how frustrating it is trying to buy badges. Believe me, I’ve been there. I’ve sat at my computer for hours waiting for them to go on sale, refreshing time and time again. Last year Melinda only managed to get single day passes. If you only manage to land one day passes, please don’t blow that off. There is plenty of events going on off site during SDCC that you’ll have plenty to do! You’ll find parties, NerdHQ and even networks are starting to have additional panels off site at different locations.
