Battlestar Galatica is one of the those shows, that is just special. It will always hold a place near and dear in the hearts of the fans and for those who were part of it. The original BSG had a short, one season run from 1978-79. 2003 marked its return in a re-imagined two-part mini-series that turned into a weekly show (four seasons) and even spawned a prequel series: Caprica. The sci-fi drama still holds up today and the 73 episodes are worthy of a good, long binge watch anytime.
During San Diego’s 2017 Comic Con the cast was reunited and WNA was fortunate enough to talk to some of the cast.
Tahmoh Penikett (Captain Karl “Helo Agathon)
Tahmoh agrees that the show is special and just as relevant now as it was then. Talking about BSG, brings up the loss of Richard Hatch (Captain Apollo ’78 and Tom Zarek ‘04). Hatch passed away in February 2017, but left a lasting impact on the BSG family.
Aaron Douglas (Chief Galen Tyrol)
Aaron talks about BSG holding a mirror up to society, it is interesting to ponder how the show would be if it were made today. He also talks about one of my personal desires—to own my own Viper, how cool would that be?
