SyFy’s Wynonna Earp Interviews at Wondercon 2016
I was lucky enough to be apart of the roundtables for Syfy’s newest scifi show, that has an awesome, kickass western twist, Wynonna Earp–Based on the IDW Comic, Wynonna Earp follows Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter as she battles demons and other creatures. With her unique abilities, and a posse of dysfunctional allies, she’s the only thing that can bring the paranormal to justice.
The show premiers tonight(!!) and as someone who’s seen the first episode, you should genuinely give it a shot–if you aren’t sold on the premise, give the interviews a watch, and I’m sure you will be won over. The passion and excitement for this show is evident and it is going to prove to be an awesome time in Purgatory.
Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp) & Shamier Anderson (Agent Dolls)
This interview is special to me, actually. Melanie shared an incredibly touching story of being bullied in high school, and I think it’s important that people know how even casual statements can have lasting effects long after they are said. Besides that, I really can’t wait to see the interesting dynamic between Dolls and Wynonna play out!
Michael Eklund (Resident Baddie), Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday), and Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp)
I was incredibly nervous when I heard there was going to be a Doc Holliday on the show, and be young and highly involved–he’s one of my favorite legends/creatures of Westerns, but Tim Rozon really won me over. His passion for Holliday is really evident, and I feel the character is in safe hands. I’m incredibly excited to see what they do with him. We know very little about Michael Eklund’s badguy, but what he has told us sounds interesting!
Comic Creator Beau Smith and Showrunner Emily Andras
The passion that both Beau and Emily have for the show and the characters is so evident in the interview, it was a joy to just listen to them talk.
Wynonna Earp premiers tonight, April 1st, 10/9c, on the Syfy Channel.
