Arcade Brewery Hosting Brew & Tweet, Saturday April 13th

Geek Fun, Movies

Hey everyone! Got this in an email and thought I’d pass it along! Sounds like fun and if I’m around Saturday night, I’m totally checking it out! ~ Melinda

This Saturday, we’ll be hosting our second monthly Brew and Tweet. The event will begin at 8:00 pm CST (that’d be 7 PM EST). Location? Basically anywhere you have access to Netflix Instant.

So, what is Brew and Tweet?
1. We, as a community, decide on a movie that’s playing on Netflix Instant. We use a Netflix Instant title, so more people have access.
2. Everyone who wants to participate presses play at 8:00 PM CST
3. We all tweet our comments (e.g. MST 3000) and also talk about the brews we have in hand. Don’t forget to hashtag #kiltscreen after each tweet so we can all follow the same feed.

If you missed the first Brew and Tweet. we watched Highlander to celebrate the William Wallace Wrestle Fest design competition. This week, we’ve selected a few movies that we think would be fun for the event and need your help deciding what we watch.

Here are the options for this month’s Brew and Tweet:

Evil Dead (1981)
During an unplanned stop at a remote cabin deep within the woods, a group of teens falls prey to a mysterious supernatural force. As his pals become possessed and turn into flesh-eating zombies, Ash Williams tries to keep his cool and save his skin.

Tremors (1990)
After a seismologist gets unusual readings on her equipment, handymen Val and Earl must save their town when they discover 30-foot-long carnivorous worms with a proclivity for sucking their prey underground.

Double Dragon (1994)
In earthquake-ravaged “New Angeles,” an evil tycoon holds half of the “Double Dragon,” a medallion that — when whole — will give him mystical powers. But two teen brothers possess the other half — and aren’t about to give it up without a fight.

The Thirteenth Floor (1999)
Two scientists have created a virtual reality 1930s Los Angeles so true-to-life that the occupants don’t know they exist only in a computer chip — until a homicide connects the parallel worlds of the simulated and the creators.

Shaolin Soccer (2001)
A down-on-his-luck ex-soccer player, injured during a rigged match, joins forces with a former monk to assemble an unlikely team of players — the monk’s awkward Shaolin brothers — harnessing the discipline and power of kung fu.

To vote, go to our Facebook Page this week and tell us what we should watch together this Saturday!
