About

My name is Barb and I run this little slice of internet. After attending San Diego Comic Con last year for the first time I started this blog. It was going to be something personal, a place to share my stories and photos, but it’s evolved into a Comic Con resource. I don’t consider myself a Comic Con expert at all but I learned along the way and want to pass my knowledge along. You’ll find personal stories, information on San Diego Comic Con in general as well as news about other related topics.

At the moment I have three bloggers that help out. There’s Bavarian Erin. She brings with her six years of San Diego Comic Con experience. Since 1996 she has owned and operated Alter Ego Comics in Marion, Iowa but attends SDCC purely as a pop culture fan. She’s an occasional crafter, constant reader, frequent eater, sporadic traveler, incessant planner and devoted wife of a video game podcaster and mother to a 6 year old pug.

Then we have Mario. He’s relatively new face in comic book industry but is no stranger to the convention circuit. Having spent the last few years traveling from con to con and building a serious contact list, Mario has a wide berth of experience and advice that he is more than willing to share. When he is not waiting on-line for an exclusive action figure Mario can be found in his North Wales, PA home working on creating comics or in Brooklyn, NY having drinks with his friends.

The most recent edition is Melinda. She’s from the Chicago area and has always considered herself a nerd. She attended her first San Diego Comic Con in 2010 and was instantly hooked. Some of her hobbies include watching The Big Bang Theory, checking out local paranormal locations and geeking it up in general.

There you have it. I hope you find information here that helps you out as you plan your own SDCC trip. Please don’t be afraid to contact us if you have questions!

  1. Marion, Iowa? Not far from me! And not far from Anime-zing!, Anime Midwest, and AniMinneapolis – some awesome cons (but AniMinneapolis is the only ‘bigger’ one so far, lol)! :D
