Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Together or Not at All

Original air date: January 12th,2018

Warning: Spoilers

A theory has been growing in my brain, and I don’t know if there is anything to it—I could totally off base, but here it goes…

What if the vision of the agents going to the future wasn’t to stop the end of the world, what if it causes it? A sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy deal. I think maybe the new inhuman they have grown attached to (Flint) was (or will be) the cause of Earth blowing up. The prophecy blames Quake—but what is Earth, if not a giant rock? Maybe Flint, who has been quick to master his gift, loses control. This is contingent on him going back in time with the others, or at least using the same technology. It might be a stretch, but I thought I would throw it out there.

At the beginning we see that none of the main baddies were killed in Simmons, Fitz and Daisy’s escape. Sinara, Kassius and Faulnak were all fine—only thanks to Sinara are we down Faulnak and his henchman Maston-Dar—oh and Flint he killed one of the Kree. Basically, everyone but our agents are making a dent in the Kree population. I thought she might kill Kassius as he was gloating about his brother—but I guess she likes him. I’m not her biggest fan, but I think she could do better. I’m saying I hate Sinara, in terms of her villainy, she is awesome—in my dream scenario she switches sides, but somehow, I doubt that will happen.

While watching this episode the phrase, ‘herding cats’, came into mind—I love how we can’t get all the agents together, and when we get the majority together they decide split up. At least Fitz and Simmons are together—crashing to earth, but together. From the previews for next week we see they all make it to the surface just fine and meet up with May, Enoch and Robin Hinton. Robin has managed to stay alive (she must be 90-something at least)) and it looks like she has more cryptic messages to give the agents.

Deke made a reappearance this episode and I really hope he stays one of the good guys. I am curious to find out who his dad is, and what is the story is behind him and all the surface dwellers. I also am hoping for an epic Vrellnexians versus Human showdown. Or maybe the agents find a way to use the Vrellnexians to fight the Kree—they could isolate the humans then let the Vrellnexians run amok.

I wonder if Kassius is going to brave the surface to look for Daisy? Or is he just going to send Sinara? (Again, what does she see in him?) I wonder if we are going to meet his father? Just a thought, but what if his dad is Shatterstar (Arides)? I know Inhumans wasn’t well received, but this could be a nice tie-in. Or maybe and this would be horrible, but kind of hilarious—what if our agents are in another simulation? Not the Framework, but something created by Supreme Intelligence? I guess I would like to see the Kree of AoS tie-in to some of the notable Kree baddies from the comics.

Even with the fear there might be something to my theory about Flint—I love the little Mack, Yo-Yo and Flint family unit. I think both Mack and Yo-Yo will be great role models for Flint, but I just hope he listens. I think watching them protect the Lighthouse humans is going to be highly entertaining. They are going to keep the Kree on their toes.  These past two episodes really have renewed the pace we saw at the beginning of the season—I am so hyped for the next episodes. I have this feeling they are building to something big, I can’t wait to see what it is!
