When Nerds Attack was very fortunate to receive an invitation from Disney to the Monsters University
Starting things off with an authentic college panache, the crowd was fired up by the Stony Brook marching band before being introduced to our “Freshman Orientation” lead by Jim Babcock, Director of Communications for Disney Consumer Products. As our Freshman Orientation Advisor, Jim highlighted that there are over 125 licensees, such as Spin Master and Fischer-Price, releasing an array of products that are scheduled to hit shelves around May 10th, and a second wave of products expected in Fall of 2013.
As well as a special presentation of the film’s very amusing trailer we were also shown a video of Pixar’s john Lasseter highlighting a number of the licensed toys and games that will start hitting stores in a few short months.
After a brief round-table discussion with Disney VP Josh Silverman, actor John Goodman, director Dan Scanlon, and producer Kori Rae we were invited into a special showroom where we were allowed to have a hands on experience with a number of toys and products that will be available for sale soon. This showroom also featured a demo of the upcoming Disney Infinity video game.
