In a recent interview with Publishers Weekly, Comic-Con International VP of Marketing and Public Relations David Glanzer revealed that WonderCon will once again be be held in Anaheim on March 29-31, 2013. This will mark the second time that the long-running Bay area event will not be in San Francisco, but that is only because San Francisco’s Moscone Center is still undergoing construction and could not lock down dates for more than six months in advance.
Earlier this year Wondercon made it’s debut at the Anaheim Convention Center with a very impressive turnout but leaving many wondering what this meant for the future of the show. But all hope is not lost! There is still a chance the Bay area could see a form of WonderCon in the fall of 2013. If this were to happen, the San Francisco show will be called WonderCon, leaving the Anaheim show to come up with a new name and creating a fourth show run by CCI.
Stay tuned for more details and thanks to Heidi MacDonald for the awesome reporting.
