Marvel Movie News: ‘The Avengers 2’ Release Date, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Log Line, and ‘Daredevil’ Back In Marvel Possession

After last weeks announcement that Joss Whedon would be returning to direct the second Avengers film, Marvel Studios finally announced the official release date for The Avengers 2. Here is the press release:

The Walt Disney Studios has announced a release date for Marvel Studios’ sequel to the biggest Super Hero blockbuster and third highest grossing film of all time, Marvel’s The Avengers. Joss Whedon returns to write and direct the UNTITLED MARVEL’S AVENGERS SEQUEL set for release May 1, 2015.

 

 

 

Marvel comics and film fans everywhere are marking their calendars for the next three years of Marvel films. May has been a great month for Marvel releases, and tends to be an overall good month for most summer blockbusters. Quick on the heals of all the Marvel hub-bub is news that Daredevil has reverted back into Marvel’s possession. After director Joe Carnahan (The Grey) releaesed information and a couple clips that were presented, and rejected, to Fox for the red suited superhero, the time ticked out and now Marvel has the ability to (possibly) create a worthy film for Daredevil. You can see one of the clips that Carnahan created below.
