Thursday in Hall H is all about the Mouse, Mickey Mouse that is! Errr…well, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures anyway!
Disney will be hosting their panel Thursday, July 12th from 2:05 – 3:05 pm in the gargantuan Hall H. On deck are a slew of creators and talent for a trio of Walt Disney’s new films.
Frankenweenie, in theaters October 5th, is the story of a young boy using the power of science to bring his best canine friend back to life. It is a stop-motion film by the creative genius, Tim Burton, who will be in attendance for a Q & A.
You won’t get to see the Wizard of Oz prequel, Oz: The Great and Powerful, until March of 2013 but Sam Rami will be at the panel to give you a special look-see at the new film. Oz features a stellar cast that includes James Franco, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, Zach Braff and Mila Kunis, none of which are listed as attending (but we’ll keep our fingers crossed!)
Wreck-It-Ralph is a classic arcade game character whose having a bit of an identity crisis. This truly imaginative film opens on November 2nd, 2012 and the voice talent will be at the panel to inform and entertain. John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman will be joined by the film’s director, Rich Moore.
Later in the week, the Marvel Studios portion of Walt Disney will be taking over Hall H to present Iron Man 3. Marvel and Disney have been very tight-lipped about what they will be showing and who will be attending this panel, although they have confirmed that head-honcho Kevin Feige will be the ringleader. Iron Man 3 is currently in production but it would not be unheard of for cast members to take a weekend break for the jaunt to Comic-Con. And Comic-Con loves Robert Downey Jr., who would be a welcome sight.
The Marvel Studios Iron Man 3 panel will be Saturday, July 14th from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. For attendees leaving early Sunday morning, this would make the perfect swan song to Comic-Con 2012.
