Panels, San Diego Comic Con

This sounds like a really interesting panel!

Building Props for Sci-Fi in the 21st Century

July 14th: 7:00PM-8:00PM
Room: 24ABC

Join Andy Gore (QMx), Jack Kenney (Executive Producer/Showrunner Warehouse 13), Andy Siegel (Prop Master – Avatar, The Amazing Spiderman, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Cell, The Rocketeer and The Abyss), John Eblan (Prop Maker – Star Wars: Episode II and III) and Nick Robatto (Prop Maker – Doctor Who, Torchwood) as we discuss how your favorite props are made, from concept to execution.

Sci-Fi props already have the advantage of a sharp aesthetic, but in this day and age, how do you take sci-fi prop making and the replica making that tends to follow to the next level?

The panel will discuss the impact of accelerated production schedules and technology on how TV and movie props are conceived and created. You will also learn the different types of prop-making, from working props and digital modeling to 3D printers and the use of advanced materials.

You can even RSVP on Facebook if you like. This panel is being put together by Quantum Mechanix (QMx)!
