“Eureka” Canceled By Syfy

I don’t watch the show but I’m sure it comes to a shock to many of you. They had a packed panel at San Diego Comic Con and I know Colin Ferguson was an even bigger hit as he took the time to talk to fans that never made it into Ballroom 20. While waiting in line for The Indigo Room on Saturday, people in front of me were telling me how he took pictures with those who were stuck in the never ending Ballroom 20 line. It sounded like he really cared about the fans of his show. Here’s the cancellation statement from Syfy:

“After painstaking consideration, we have had to make the difficult business decision to not order a season six of ‘Eureka.’ But ‘Eureka’ is not over yet. There is a new holiday episode this December and 12 stellar episodes set to debut next year, marking its fifth season and six memorable years on Syfy. The 2012 episodes are some of the best we’ve seen, and will bring this great series to a satisfying end. We are very grateful to [executive producers] Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia, their team of incredible writers, and an amazing cast and crew who have consistently delivered a series we continue to be very proud of. We thank the fans for their support of this show and know they will enjoy its final season in 2012.”

What do you think? Was the writing on the wall? Are you shocked? Was it expected?

  • Well saw thus one coming in the posts from previous weeks. It’s a great show, & I to did not make it into BR20 for the panel unfortunately. As long as they can go out on top its all good……wonder if Cafe Diem @ hard Rock will go to?

  • They’ll probably just rename it. That place is always packed during SDCC and I doubt either side wants to see that money go. It’ll be interesting to see what happens though!
