It seems like everyday I’m finding out about another convention! This one is HeroesCon in Charlotte, North Carolina. It’s taking place this weekend, June 3rd-5th, at the Charlotte Convention Center. If you don’t know much about the event here’s some information from the website:
HEROES CONVENTION was founded in 1982 by Shelton Drum, owner of Charlotte’s Heroes Aren’t Hard To Find comics shop. Since then the convention has become famous for its comics-first and family-friendly atmosphere, where fans can mingle directly with professionals and exhibitors. Boasting an incredible guest list built mainly on reputation and goodwill, HeroesCon is known nationwide as a “must” on the summer schedule, drawing fans, exhibitors, and creators from every region of the country to the Charlotte Convention Center.
It sounds like a great time! A one day pass is only $15 and a weekend pass is $30. If you have children 12 and under they get in for free! It doesn’t get much better than that!
Here’s a small sample of the guest list:
They even feature an “Indie Island!”
A 10,000+ square-foot section at the very center of HeroesCon’s Artists Alley, filled with the very finest from the worlds of indie comics, mini-comics, webcomics, designers, printmakers.. it’s a bazaar! 2011 will be our seventh and by far MOST AWESOME year, and we will be adding people to the guest list steadily from now until the show itself! Excelsior!
