I’m a little late on this but it’s hard to keep up with all the Comic Cons that are out there. If you enjoy the Syfy version of “Being Human” you’ll be happy to know that Sammy Huntington will be attending The Motor City Comic Con this weekend! That’s right, it’s this weekend May 13th-1th. The event takes place at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Detroit.
Detroit Free Press had a chance to talk to Sammy about attending comic conventions:
Q: With “Being Human” and your role in 2006’s “Superman Returns,” you’re really earning credibility with the Comic Con crowd. Are you into it?
A: Oh, I sure do know the fan boys. I’ve had a lot of experience with all the nerdery and the like. I’m a geek myself.
I’m really looking forward to being in Detroit. But I have to leave early, so I’ll be there on Friday and the early part of Saturday.
Q: Is there anything specific you’re looking forward to or anyone you want to meet?
A: This is all my favorite stuff. At Comic Con, I really try to check out all the toys, all the collectibles. I really love Legos — and I love to see all the new models.
I love comic book movies. Just the other night, “Iron Man” was on. I was so exhausted, but it’s one of those movies that you have to stay up for and watch every time. “Thor” is opening. “Green Lantern,” I’m definitely going to see.
I would totally geek out if I ever met Sigourney Weaver. The “Alien” films are my favorite movies. When I was a kid, I had this horrible fear of the dark. But I wasn’t scared of the “Alien” movies. I used to watch them over and over again, and they really helped me overcome my fear. There’s a really special place in my heart for Sigourney and those films.
Huntington will be signing autographs at $25 a pop during the event. You can still purchase tickets! A one day ticket is $22 and a three day ticket is $50. You have until Wednesday to purchase tickets online.
