If you weren’t around this weekend you missed my hotel fiasco. You can read about it here. Basically I woke up Saturday, checked my email and saw that my San Diego Comic Con hotel reservation had been canceled with no explanation or reason. I called and no one could tell me anything except that I’d have to wait until Monday. That’s when I got Chris Elliott involved and sent a tweet to Niki Leondakis, the President & COO of Kimpton hotels.
I didn’t hear anything Saturday (probably due to the time difference, I’m EST) but when I checked my email Sunday morning I had an email telling me that my reservation was fixed and they apologized for the inconvenience and worry they caused. “Worry” is an understatement as I’m sure my blood pressure was off the charts! I asked if they knew what happened to cause this problem in the first place but they don’t know yet. They said they’ll keep me updated. As you can imagine I’ll be printing out all the emails and bringing them with me to make sure I don’t have any unexpected issues at check-in.
Mr. Elliott asked if he could write about my experience and I told him sure. Once his article is up I’ll be sure to share the link. Perhaps he’ll be able to find some answers to some of my questions.
